This is NOT fiber
I´ve been really busy working these last couple of weeks and not much have been happening carwise. I can´t let you down though. So here´s a pic of the SPII. I am patiently waiting for the fiber-buggy-industry to create a replica of this baby. If they did, would I enrole myself in a kit car club?

Friendly takeover
Tuesday Guller and I braced ourselves and went ahead with the project of laying his bus on the side. This was done to gain access to all the outriggers for sandblasting and rustrepairs. When my own panelvan was restored I did the exact same thing in a jig much like this one. Of course I scrapped the jig before Guller bought his bus. Ironic, hu?
On the picture I´m holding the bus while Guller is mixing pina coladas in his birthday suit.

Saturday we went "full swap"
Saturday I was up at 4.30 driving in the worst rain, storm and darkness to get to the annual swapmeet i Herning. I had a rendezvous with Herbie Thomas and was going to enjoy the swapmeet with my friends Peter, Nørholm, Claus and Jens. I found a couple of outriggers for Gullers bus and a nice steering wheel. We then went for a burger at 9.30 and visited the Herning Bugs open house event. I think we were a bit early. The John Doe club in Ikast were paid a visit before we went to Jens´house where a bit of metal was cut out of a donor car for my split. Thanks Jens. A great day!

Horn broken - watch for finger
At the swapmeet in Herning I found a heart-taillight which I bought even though I had no use for it, but it was cheap. Today "Herbie Thomas" kindly offered me to swap me this horn push for my splitbug. Peter Plade gave me a link to a guy in Sweden who had 8 16" rims and I think I have found the right place to buy the tires for the car. Today the parcel with all the bits for the chassis finally got here. CSP was really nice but the courier DPD was absolutely unprofessional.
I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Hi from across the water
My friend Jon from the UK send me these pictures of his rides. Jon and I met eachother a few years back when Jon was touring Europe in his camper. Jon lived in my driveway for about a week, and we had a lot of laughs. At the time I was building my panelvan, and I envyed Jon that he was able to enjoy life on the road for a couple of months. Sooner or later I will do the same thing in my panel. Jon works as a MOT tester. Here´s what Jon wrote to me.
Hi Gustav,
What a great Blog !!!!! Thanks for the link its been great to see what you have been up to in your crazy VW world and some of the lovely cars.
I still have my VW camper van and have been on a lot of trips this year in the UK but no where else as i am still waiting for that BIG CHEQUE to drop through the letter box !!!!!!! I have bought myself a flat which is great if a little small but it is my own, but it does not have a workshop. I see you have built a new one to store all your toys in !!!!
I also have a 66 type 1 as my daily drive its no show winner more like a mild rat look but it is really solid and very original.
I'm not to hot on the computer but i will try and attach some photos for you to have a look at hope it works.
Take care Jon
